Make Quebec a Zone for Peace

On Monday, September 10, nearly 150 scientists and technicians from the security agencies of the member countries of the Five Eyes and about 100 soldiers from the Canadian Armed Forces Royal 22nd Regiment 3rd Battalion’s ‘B’ Company will test some 50 or so new technologies in Montreal. The Five Eyes are an alliance of intelligence services between Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. The military exercise, called the 2018 Contested Urban Environment Experiment (CUE), will be held for 12 days, from September 10 to 21. This second edition of CUE, on the best way to conduct military operations in urban environments, is a result of the increased integration of Canadian security agencies with U.S. war preparations aimed at world domination.

The fact that there is no objection from the governments of Quebec and Canada on the conducting of military exercises to fine-tune the espionage and military capabilities of these big, aggressive powers demonstrates how important it is that sovereignty be vested in the people. Far from being a secondary issue, control over decision-making on political affairs contributes to the cause of peace internationally, curbing the increased integration of Canada and Quebec’s security into the internal security of the United States and its wars of aggression.

Quebec must become a zone for peace by withdrawing from all aggressive alliances such as Five Eyes, NATO and NORAD. The people of Quebec have an active role to play in preventing our human, natural and financial resources from being placed in the service of war.
